Myrtle Beach, SC (February 20, 2019) – P2P South Carolina is an interactive, hands-on career expo designed to help 8th graders and young adults, link their passions to a paycheck. Each individual spends two hours exploring the pathways, along with the educators and chaperones where professionals from 19 career pathways engage the students with hands-on activities in their various fields, while also sharing what life is like in their jobs and the training and education that’s required.
“P2P is unlike anything we’ve ever done in South Carolina, it’s like a job fair on steroids! This event will inspire young adults from throughout the Pee Dee region and hopefully spark their interest in starting the career of their dreams!”-Sarah Smith, Executive Director, Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments.
P2P initially debuted in Biloxi, Mississippi in November 2013 and this year will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on February 20 & 21, 2019. We expect to host 7,000 8th graders from seven counties around our area: Georgetown, Horry, Williamsburg, Florence, Dillon, Marlboro & Marion. All individuals who are interested in discovering a new career should plan to attend! For more information about P2P, please contact Marsha Platt at 843-436-6141 or via email at Mplatt@wrcog.
