Notice of Public Comment-Pee Dee Regional WIOA Plan 2020-2023
The Waccamaw Workforce Development Area, which includes Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties, along with the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments as its administrative entity, are accepting public comments regarding the Pee Dee Regional WIOA Plan for 2020-2023.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is designed to help youth, job seekers and businesses connect with each other in the region. The comprehensive four-year local plan, in partnership with Chief Elected Officials, serves as a plan to develop, align, and integrate local area service delivery strategies with those that support the State’s strategic and operational goals. The plan can be found online at www.waccamawworks.org or at www.wrcog.org or at the link below.

Waccamaw Workforce Development Board brings employers and job seekers together in South Carolina. The majority of the WWDB members are business representatives. Other members include representatives of education providers, labor organizations, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, and programs participating in the one-stop system. In our area, Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments serves as the administrative entity and fiscal agent for the Workforce Investment Board.
