Job seekers will find a vast array of resources when they visit their local SC Works Center! With offices located in Conway, Georgetown, and Kingstree, visitors have access to our offices Monday-Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Job Seekers may also contact us by phone at 843-546-8581.

Veterans
Veterans and eligible spouses will receive priority of services for all employment and training services. This service policy aligns with The Job for Veteran’s Act and ensures that those who have served our country move to the front of the line for employment and training services.

*As defined by the local service policy, a veteran is a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. Active services includes full-time duty in the National Guard or Reserve component, other than full-time duty for training purposes. Spouses may be covered under this policy if they meet one of several criteria.

Resource Lab
The SC Works Center Resource Labs are the entry point to all employment services, allowing access to computers, internet, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines. Job seekers can meet with workforce professionals, review online job listings and resource materials, and apply for jobs and/or financial aid assistance. All area Resource Labs are equipped with assistive technologies for individuals with disabilities.

Resume Development
Use our Resource Lab and get tips from our professional staff to develop a resume that gets you noticed.

Computer Software Tutorials
Tutorials are available to assist individuals in preparation for the General Equivalency Diploma (GED), to improve basic reading and math skills, or to improve workplace skills.

Skills Assessments
Get a clear picture of your strengths and weaknesses and then utilize the tutorials to improve your skills. Discover careers that reward people with your special talents and abilities.

Employability Workshops
SC Works Centers host workshops on such topics as conducting a job searches, how to fill out an application, and interview best practices, resume writing, job readiness, and more.

Job Development Assistance
Receive a helping hand with your job search by connecting with SC Works qualified staff!  Along with online job search assistance, staff can help you with finding current job listings and completing job applications.

Financial Aid Assistance
Our professional SC Works staff will assist you in the completion of financial aid applications so you can access educational training. To begin your federal aid search independently, please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov. Use this form to apply free for federal and state student grants, work-study and loans.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Individuals looking for on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and/or classroom training may qualify for services within the WIOA Program, including career counseling, in-depth assessments, education, and occupational skills training.

WIOA Programs can assist you with earning a high school diploma or GED; obtaining a Certification and/or Associates Degree from a WIOA Eligible Training Provider; and with finding On the Job Training and/or Apprenticeship opportunities with local employers.

Apprenticeships
Find Apprenticeship opportunities through our vast network of employers who hire and train employees with little to no experience! Apprenticeships require a combination of on-the-job training with classroom training, and allow individuals to earn while they learn!
